Everyone is searching for that one thing. You know the one…that one thing that’s going to make you the best version of yourself: the right job, the right partner, the right friends, the right outfit, the right body. We want it all and we want to be the best at getting it. Yet sometimes, we become so focused on being our best selves someday that we lose sight of how to be happy with who we are today- that was certainly the case for me.

For me, life was always about setting and meeting goals. And I knew that, one day, if I just kept meeting those goals and kept working to improve myself that I would finally become the person I was always supposed to be. Sure, I frequently found myself coming up short when measured against that ideal, she-can-have-it-all image that I had of myself…but still, if I just kept at it, I’d get there…someday. I’d be that perfect person I always dreamed of being/ was supposed to be, one day.

It took a long time for me to realize that what I was actually supposed to be was happy (and when I was supposed to be that person was now).
We live in a goal-oriented world that’s brimming over with the desire to be more- more balanced, more productive, more compassionate, more exciting, more everything. And in such a world, maybe the most radical thing you could ever do is simply say that you want enough…that you are enough. The desire to better yourself can be life-changing + affirming; but first, it has to be informed by the knowledge that you can be happy by being yourself.

Nowadays, there is no shortage of amazing #fitspo and #bodygoals out there, but one thing I think we could all use a little more of is the inspiration to live well in (and for) the moment! That's why I created this blog.
